Confucius once remarked “In Education there should be no class distinction” and indeed this ideal
school never had the barriers or distinction of caste, creed and colour or of rich and poor. Not many
years ago “Shiva Gulam Sharma Educational Society” that was established in 1976 founded this school
when Late Pt. S.G. Sharma the Founder of the society himself visited the “Oxford- the oldest English
Speaking University of the world”.
During this foreign visit he cherished a dream that there should be such an institution in
India also having the ‘beauty of the West and the Virtue of East’. The present institution is his dream in
reality and thus it carries the name “Oxford Model Sr. Sec. School”. It saw the light of the day in 1978
only (just after his visit).
It is needless to say that the road to success has always been trying and tiring. This
school too was started in four small cells but the unwavering courage of the Manager Sri R. N. Sharma,
the never fails faith of the parents, the kind and compassionate attitude of Ms. Rakhi Singh and the
devotion and dedication of the learned teachers have set forth such norms and ideals that it has become
not w school second to none in the state rather in the whole country.
“Children are the most beautiful flowers of human harvest” they are the future hope of
humanity at large so the school aims at the all sided development of the pupils more than three
thousand students (both boys and girls) study under the same roof through Science and Commerce
streams. Not only have the result in Academics but also in Co-Curricular activities always been most
encouraging. Even the students of this school have topped the list of the successful candidates in Board
Examinations in the District (Kanpur Nagar and Dehat). Not only that but in sports activities like
Volleyball, Cricket, Chess, Table Tennis, Karate, Marshall Arts, Drawing, Paintings, Collage and bag-
decorating , D.J. mixing, Dance, Drama, Science Quiz and English, Hindi recitation and declamation the
students have often bagged almost all the prizes at District/State level. The multistory buildings, the
spacious and airy classrooms, the well-equipped physics, chemistry, biology, computers and language
labs in hindi and english have no parallel. The rich library , day boarding school along with hostels
facilities and vast play field in pollution free zone also contribute a lot to the many sided development
of the pupils.
